Our founder, Howard C. Bristow (1929-1999), was the proprietor of Bristow Auto Body located in Paterson, New Jersey – the largest repair facility in Passaic County. He recognized a need for qualified experts in the appraisal and forensics field. He branched out in 1968 and Truck & Equipment Specialists, Inc. was born. His constant striving for, and insistence on, quality and perfection were well known. He was acknowledged, and appeared, in an article in Popular Mechanics, December, 1969.

Howard L. Bristow, “JR”, joined the organization in 1978. His fascination with trucks, cranes, and heavy equipment began at age five. In 1996, JR assumed the position of President, and has been proudly providing the insurance industry, self insured’s, TPAs, and attorneys with the highest quality inspections, reports, and expert witness testimony.

T&ES was retained by the city of New York as the heavy equipment consultant to the World Trade Center Response Office. T&ES handled the inspection, damage evaluations, and settlements of over 400 pieces of equipment during the debris removal process at ground zero. During this 13 month period, T&ES successfully negotiated and processed and over $6 million in heavy equipment damage claims.
